One of the most important areas a young wrestler can and should work on (consistently) is his grip. Wrestlers that have solid, and very strong grips, are usually much better wrestlers and have much better outcomes. So much of wrestling is influenced on whether the wrestler can “hold on”, “grab” and “lock down” the opponent.
Without a good grip, a wrestler, in my opinion, is at a major disadvantage.
